Hello and welcome to Manga Reborn's introduction forum and thread. Whether you are new or old, feel free to let us know some simple things about you like your likes and dislikes, hobbies, or random oddities and quirks. Basically, just introduce your self to the community. :)

You can either create your own personal thread or you can just post a quick intro in this one if you are the shy type- It is entirely up to you!

If you did decide to create your own personal thread, please include your username somewhere in the title of the thread so it will be easy for others to locate. You can either go with the simple yet effective way of just using your username as the thread title or you can spruce it up a tad bit more and make it more personal with a thread title that reflects you. Once again, it is entirely up to you!

Just remember, all site and forum rules and guidelines are in effect. So please keep everything nice and friendly. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact one of MRs staff members or send a note to the Administration.

Have fun!

Elanor Pam

I'm Lady Marmalady, Brazilian, trying to make is as an illustrator and kinda failing. My hobby is learning languages - I've studied English, some Spanish, Japanese and now German... but I'm really only confident enough to hold a conversation in English. I do some Japanese translating, but it goes slowly, as my kanji skills are quite rusty.

My favorite manga is Violinist of Hameln and its sequel, Shchelkunchik. I translate the sequel when I can, but it's hard work doing it alone!

I have two comics which are available in my personal website, and which I intend to post here as well, for free. I also plan on drawing comics exclusively for this site eventually. My posting schedule will most likely be monthly, though.

I hope my work is enjoyable to everyone. ^_^ It's a pleasure to meet you all.

Hey there...^^

I'm GEshode and hope to be of some help on this site as a translator. I am translating from English to German and vice versa. I already posted some of my translations on mangahelpers.com, even if that is some time ago. Although I am learning Japanese right now, it is still not good enough to translate from Japanese. I hope that it will be some day...^^

I'm interested in manga, anime and Japan. Moreover I am playing MMORPGs and will start studying biochemistry in August.

If you have any questions, just ask...^^

My name is Jaime, from the USA.

I'm more into editing than translating (J->E), though I can do the latter.

I work as an IT support specialist at a private college.

Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet you all, and I'm looking forward to helping with this project.

Hey everyone!

My name's Rita and I'm Portuguese. My Japanese level is quite basic, so I'm good for Eng->Port (or vice versa) stuff. I also have some knowledge of French, if anyone cares.

I've been on an Aya Kanno spree lately, but I love my Bakumatsu period manga ♥ I don't really buy into the manga genres thing - if a series seems interesting, I'll give it a try.

I'll get my degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences this summer, and next year it'll grabbing the Master's bull by the horns. Sadly, I don't know any good drugs jokes.

Anyway, nice to meet you all, and hit me up if you need me!

I don't know if it is any good, but I found this joke on the web:

A young man on acid walked into a dentist's office and said, " Can you help me? I think I'm a moth."
The dentist said, "You don't need a dentist. You need a psychiatrist."
"Yes, I know," the man said.
The dentist asked, "So then why did you come in here?"
The man replied, "The light was on."

Hello, I am Joe Gillian Nisei.
I hope to be translating JP<->ENG.
Also same questions as WilsOn how do I sign up to be a translator?

05/17/2011 11:02 Quote | Report

Although it doesn't belong into the introduction thread.

I think I signed up as a translator, when I went over "My page" and then on the left side under "Contributions" clicked on "translations" and then there was a notice, that I haven't signed up as a translator, but could easily do that, when I click the green button with a plus on it, which was directly beneath. But I am not a hundred percent sure about it.

Just try it out.

Laura Lanford

Hello everyone~
My name is Laura and I'm a Brazilian translator for English to Portuguese or vice-versa, and I also know a little of Japanese.
Although I don't translate for a living, I've always enjoyed learning new languages since I was a child and translating things I like, so I hope to do a nice job in here with everyone else!

Some of my favourite manga artists are Hitoshi Ariga and Naoki Urasawa - I love everything I've ever read from them!
Besides reading manga and comics, other hobbies include watching anime, movies and playing games.

Nice to meet you!

I'm chichiri_chan and English is my native language. I'm fluent in Japanese, having studied the language for coming up on 15 years! I've been an anime fan for about 18 years now. (Boy does time fly when you're having fun!)

I really love just about any manga by Yuki Kaoru, Anzai Nobuyuki and Kusanagi Toshiki. As for anime and video games, I'm pretty addicted to the whole Hakuouki series at the moment.

I'm looking forward to working together with everyon! ^_^

Wow there's a lot less japanese and korean translators then I thought would come join this site... Interesting

05/18/2011 00:27 Quote | Report

Wow.. so many people to welcome. ^.^

I hope you all are enjoying the site so for. If any of you have any suggestions or bugs to report, please do so as I am sure the site staff would love to hear them.

If not, don't be shy in creating some threads around here to get things rolling. Whether it is your own personal thread in this section or some in the General Discussion area.. the more, the merrier. :3

Edit: maybe I'll make a "ask me" thread soon to get the ball rolling on those.

Taariq N

Hi everyone!

My name is Taariq. It's my first time as a translator for manga. I can translate back and forth from English and French.

My favorite manga is definitely One Piece. I also like Naruto, Death Note and a bunch of others. I'm a big anime fan too.

I'm happy to contribute to this website in any way and get to know you guys!

Eng <-> Japanese <-> Korean (I consider all to be my native languages) here.

Used to translate on MangaHelpers for a while, but life kinda got in the way... Definitely love translating, always learning the art of translating just a tiny bit more with each translation... It's not enough that you just know languages, you really do need mastery to produce flowing, quality translations, IMHO :)

OK, weird stream of consciousness done :p

Hello, Monkenguin is my name. I got it from a drawing a friend of mine in high school did; it was an animal fusion sketch of a monkey/penguin hybrid, my two favorite animals.

I translate from Japanese/French to English. I learned French as a kid, and Japanese in College. I've translated for SnoopyCool and Project NOIR, and I have a few years' experience. Some projects I've worked on: Change 123, Aoi Destruction, Eden no Hana. Looking forward to working on more, here.

I enjoy lots of different manga, but my favorites would be Touch (Mitsuru Adachi), Hajime no Ippo (Morikawa Jyoji), Tenjo Tenge (Ogure Ito), and on and on...

I have a B.A. in Creative Writing, and I'd love to start putting it to use on MangaReborn.

Hi I'm Vyc. I'm a native English and Japanese speaker. Been reading mangas since I was very young. Started off with Dragon Ball Z and felt like I've read most of the popular shounen series.

I love surfing and the beach. I also love going on reddit and misc.

These are the kind of stuff that make me lol
