Hi, everyone! I just posted the first chapter of my comic, and I wanted to talk a little bit about it.

When I first started planning the story, it was 2004. I roughed out the first 4 pages and some character sheets, and then got busy with university and other things. When I started drawing it in earnest, it was two years later, and I had learned a lot during that time. I think the difference in quality kind of shows.

Before I posted this chapter here, I seriously considering redrawing the first pages, or at least coloring them. Among other issues, the "second" page is actually a panel from the first, and the outer view of the inn has changed drastically between chapters 1 and 7... as have my perspective skills. I even learned to use 3D programs in order to properly plan the building's inner and outer structure, something I hadn't bothered to think about back when I got started.

On the other hand, the improvement and development of an artist's skills chapter by chapter, or page by page, is part of a comic's reading experience. Teichan encouraged me to leave the comic as it is, as well. I hope it's okay with you guys.

On to the next topic: as I have just mentioned, this comic has been drawn since 2006, and already has 7 chapters + an omake. The thing is, I can only draw two pages a week. It's kind of ridiculous to post weekly two-page chapters, so my plan is to post monthly 8-page chapters. But until then, how should I post the other, finished chapters? Is it alright with you guys to wait a month for the second chapter, or would you rather I posted everything I have right now, and then use the 8-pages-a-month schedule? You guys decide. You're the readers.

Edit: Another option is to upload up to the 6th chapter, and post the 7th in smaller batches to get people used to the schedule. In any case, I posted up to the 3rd chapter, since it introduces what passes for routine in Bert's human life.

Just one question... is the whole "I am your father" having anything to do with starwars? :D

But yeah, I think leaving this as is is better in the long run :D. People can watch you and your manga grow :).

A special or something later down the road would be pretty cool though :).

I think most people would want to read it all (NOW) since we're all impatient people and don't like to wait. However, since you only have 7 chapters, I think it's best to start off getting people used to waiting so maybe make people wait a week each chapter of 4 to 6 (3 weeks), and then make chapter 7 into smaller packs, and throw in the omake as well after chapter 7. This way you have more time to create chapter 8+ and we can get used to the pacing/waiting.

Yes, Teichan, it's a Star Wars thingie. :P I was in a Star Wars-y mood when I came up with this piece of silliness. In the end, though, it's the only page in the silly update series :< my plan was to edit in joke dialogue in selected pages, but in the end I forgot all about it. LOL.

@ Teichan: Since the first chapter was posted on the 12th, I had planned on posting the 4th on the 19th. I could post it earlier, though, establish a Tuesday or a Wednesday posting schedule...
