2. The Youth of Moses
1: Prince! Prince Moses! Long live Prince Moses!
2: He's returned victorious from another war!
3: He's the hero of our nation! But... did you hear that rumor?
SFX: YAAAAAY! HOORAY!
SFX: HOORAY! MOSES!
4: Sshh... the rumor that's been traveling around?
SFX: HOORAY! PRINCE MOSES!
1: Prince Moses isn't actually the son of the Pharaoh.
2: He's an Israelite!
3: I've heard the rumors...
4: but are they true? Just what am I? I can't stop thinking about it... but in the end, I always end up telling myself that they're "just rumors."
5: Sometimes, though, I really wonder...
1: Like when I see Israelites being treated harshly.
2: Hurry up and get to work, you louts!
4: I just can't stand it for some reason.
7: Why do you whip them so badly?
8: Uh... because! They're Israelites!
1: They've been mooching off our kingdom for hundreds of years!
2: They're crafty, lazy, and think they're too good to worship our gods! Some of 'em may as well be whipped to death!
3: Don't you dare...
4: say any more!
5: Gggh... geh!
6: No more!
3: No one saw me...
4: O LORD!
5: Which god am I praying to? A god of Egypt?
6: I just need to make sure no one finds out!
1: You're only supposed to take enough for yourself!
2: Shuddap! I get hungrier than other people!
3: He's an Israelite, just like you! How could you wrong him, and then on top of that, beat him?!
4: Hah! You're one to talk!
5: You have no right to judge me! Or are you just going to kill me like you killed that Egyptian yesterday?
6: He saw me!
1: I need to escape! I feel like such a coward... but I have to!
2: Moses killed someone?!
3: Arrest him! He must be executed at once!
4: I can never return to Egypt! Never!
5: Moses fled from Egypt to Midian, and vowed never to return to Egypt again,
6: Arabian Peninsula
7: Sinai Peninsula
8: Midian is said to have been located along this strip.
9: Red Sea
10: Mediterranean Sea
12: Nile River
13: but decades later, the LORD would call him back...
