27. Joshua and Judges
THE OLD TESTAMENT #27
tl by danluffey
The original Old Testament has never been found. Its stories and accounts have been passed down through many different translations to present day.
Due to various translation methods and interpretations, the details of each story have changed with time.
I compiled the stories in this manga based on my own research of different translations, so I hope that everyone can enjoy this manga as my own personal version of these timeless tales.
THE BOOK OF JOSHUA (Continued)
THE BOOK OF JUDGES
*Joshua 2 ~ 24
1: Joshua continued to be a powerful leader and vanquished all his foes. After working alongside Moses for all of his life, he grew to be a general with unflinching faith in the LORD.
2: The LORD's will is that all other peoples who do not believe in him must perish!
3: Yes sir!
4: Joshua had no mercy on heretics...
5: but grew old and died before he could eradicate them all.
1: We haven't completely conquered all of the land the LORD has promised us.
2: But Joshua! We'll keep doing our best!
3: Split the land up among the different tribes and protect it with your lives.
4: "Make the LORD your only place of refuge, and serve him for all of eternity." Joshua inscribed his covenant with the Lord on a stone and placed it under an oak tree in Shechem. This was also the place where the forefather of his people, Abraham, once heard the voice of the LORD.
5: Joshua left the world at the age of 110, and the twelve tribes of Israel continued to fight to protect the land that he had claimed.
1: But as time passed, the lives of Moses and Joshua became things of the distant past. People became enthralled with the ways of their own lands, and many more people came to worship false idols.
2: When this happened, the LORD bestowed divine punishment upon them, and they repented. But they soon came to forget the LORD yet again.
3: More time passed, and the cycle continued. Sometimes, the LORD would pick out someone to become a Judge and teach others how to live properly and obey the LORD's will.
